Occupational Health and Safety

Introduction

MBI assists each employer in the MBI Incubator Center with the development and implementation of a comprehensive health and safety program for their company. MBI's occupational health and safety staff assist employers with required plans and programs, provide employee training, maintain chemical inventories, conduct lab inspections, oversee programs for hazardous waste disposal, and provide technical assistance with any other company health and safety issue. To make this program complete, MBI also provides the necessary licenses and permits to work under and ensures that laboratories are properly equipped and maintained. Once a company leaves MBI they should have all the resources necessary to maintain this program at their new facility.

MBI Health & Safety Staff is available to assist you in your training and compliance needs in areas such as:

  • OSHA Chemical Hygiene Program
  • MDEP Hazardous Waste Regulations
  • OSHA Emergency Evacuation Plan
  • OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard
  • NIOSH /CDC Biosafety Guidelines
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Radiation Safety

To learn more about MBI’s health and safety requirements, please fill out the attached MBI Prospective Tenant Interview form and our Health and Safety Director,  Michele Pitoniak Crawford will answer any questions you may have.
